Blonde Male· Review provided by samsung.com · July 22, 2024
Samsung have released the latest addition edition to their z flip phone line and it does not disappoint if your upgrading from the z flip 5 or are just a new customer. Available in Blue, Mint, Yellow, Silver Shadow, White, Peach, and Crafted Black, your chosen colour also features around the camera lenses which is pretty cool! Upgrading the battery from 3,700mAh to 4,000mAh combined with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a vapor cooling chamber helps the phone work more effectively and efficiently with minimum battery drainage as possible.

The Samsung outer flex window which is the size of 3.4-inch features Interactive Wallpapers, Generative Wallpapers, respond to texts by suggested replies based on your texting style, dual-screen Interpreter Mode, whilst also including new widgets such as health, news, reminders, and anything you want to feature without opening the phone. The additional Flipsuit case automatically changes the wallpaper to match its design via NFC. Plus, with wireless charging, the case's LED should light up when clipped onto the back.

Snapping a selfie or taking pictures of your favourite landscapes is achievable by the 50MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, but that is not all! The AI-powered Auto Zoom feature cleverly automatically detects how many people are in the shot, identifying background objects, and doing all the guess work of framing a photo for you. Featured also is the enhanced "nightography" with video HDR to let you capture better-quality videos even in dim lighting or for those evenings when you require its needs.

The durability of this phone is helped by the dual rail hinge structure that is supported by a strengthened folding edge whilst also Armor Aluminum is incorporated into its frame and hinge housing and the screens both feature Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It is also noted the phone provides limited dust protection in addition to water resistance with a IP48 rating which means it can withstand a depth of 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes, though with any phone it is best not to test these limits just to be on the safe side.

The design is an upgrade from previous flip models because the "gap" when closed is virtually non existent helping to stop those little leftovers in your pocket or bag finding there way in and greeting you when opening the phone.

Fitting perfectly in your hand, the samsung galaxy z flip 6 is the perfect phone to fulfill your needs whether that would be for photography, surfing the internet, gaming, listening to music, keeping up to date on all social networks, or for just phoning and texting. All you have to do is choose what colour you would like and what apps to download from the playstore to personalise this easy to use and reliable mobile phone that easily fits into your daily life!
[Rewarded Review] A great new type of mobile experience

This is the first flip phone I've had in around 20 years, and its been a revelation. This is a whole new way of using a mobile phone and it's fantastic! The outside screen is brilliant for seeing notifications, as well as useful widgets and information direct at your fingertips without needing to open the phone - a glance is all it takes. There are various widgets available, as well as certain apps (I'm sure more will be added in due course) which work directly on the outside screen which has changed the way I use my mobile, its simply brilliant.
Both screens are nice and bright, being easy to see in any light conditions. The main screen is so vivid and clear, it makes watching video a joy, especially with the wider aspect ratio.
The phone is responsive, quick and smooth no matter what you do with it, and it doesn't matter how many apps you have running, it doesn't slow down or struggle at all. It was also a surprise that the phone also doesn't get hot when its working hard, Samsung's new cooling system definitely works.
Samsung's software is better than ever, with the familiar and easy to use interface and UI, however it is now turbocharged with the addition of the AI tools. Whether it be circle to search, photo editing tools or the simply fantastic translation tools, they are easy to use and work just as you'd want. I have to admit that prior to using them, I wasn't sure how much I would use the AI tools, however I can see them being extremely useful in a myriad of situations.
The cameras are simply stunning, producing clear and detailed shots with true to life colours and tones. Add in the aforementioned AI tools and it is simply the best camera phone I have ever had.
The phone seems solidly made and feels very well built. I always put a cover on my phones, but I'm not actually sure this one needs it as it feels quite rugged.
I've not really had the phone long enough yet to be able to give a definitive verdict on the battery life, but so far it seems to be coping extremely well and I haven't had any battery anxiety at all. Samsung have put a bigger battery in this model than previous versions, and even when I've been using it heavily during initial setup and over the period I've had it, it has not disappointed, and has lasted extremely well.
The only little niggle I have is that the charging speed is only 25w (15w if using wireless), which is a little slow by today's standards, however its only a minor inconvenience
[Rewarded Review] Another good flip phone from Samsung

I have now had the joy of testing the Samsung flip four five and six. The fifth and 6th generation of this phone was certainly a leap from the fourth, however as others have likely said before the difference between the fifth and sixth generation of this phone is quite small.
Externally the changes are very small, with things like rings around the cameras that matches the color of the phone and improved tempered glass protection. Additionally, this version is not only water resistant but dust resistant as well.
Internally this sixth generation of the flip as a new processor and increased memory meaning it does everyday tasks much fast er than its predecessor, additionally the AI features on this phone I'm much better. Having used it now for a number of days I found the user experience to be better than the fifth generation. The main reason for this view is the lag time when moving between apps is almost non-existent. The cover screen is also great on this version and allows you to use it for things like texting and using well-known messaging apps. If you were to ask me who I would recommend this phone for I would struggle to tell you; not because I don't think it has an audience or a market but rather because I can see it appealing to lots of different people. Additionally if you happen to have a Samsung smartwatch you will find that you can use these to in partnership for all sorts of things. My favourite personally is that you can turn your SmartWatch into a display for your camera and a remote button for it. So, for example you could place your phone at a right angle given that it flips and place it on a table, you and others then stand a distance away checking in the screen of your Samsung smartwatch that you are all in frame and then set off the time by pressing the button on your SmartWatch. Your phone will then take the picture for you. If you don't happen to have a Samsung smart watch and you can still be creative with your camera by using the cover screen as a mirror for selfies so that you all the person you're photographing can see what they look like before you take their picture. It's great little features like this that make this phone really good.
[Rewarded Review] Wow just wow

Just to begin with I will give my overall impression and it is ‘wow’. For me and the way I work and live my life this is the perfect phone for me.
Back in the day I always bought what we would call a ‘clamshell’ phone with Motorola being the main go to manufacturer. As time went on and technology developed the downside was the disappearance of the folding compact phone. At the time you get used to it and the idea of this option vanishes from your memory.
Skip forward a couple of decades and the advances in technology have created the folding phone and I couldn’t be happier – but why, well let me explain.
Firstly, the ability to have the full functionality of a smartphone that I can fold over and just slip in a pocket without any bulkiness or difficulty is just brilliant. I was concerned about the so called ‘crease’ and the durability of the phone, but those concerns have vanished. The crease is barely noticeable and does not make any difference when using the phone or watching videos and the handset is solid with no issues around dust or the hinge. I am confident that the phone will withstand the same usage as any other regular handset.
Secondly, we must discuss the advanced AI on the handset. There are two different AI options available – there is Samsung AI which is built into the phone and the option to download Google’s Gemini AI. I have found both useful and each able to offer something different. For me the AI really comes into play at work as I have a job with the public and I also must access and read multiple documents a day. The phone can as an example summarise a document or web page at the press of a button but the one AI element, I am most excited about is the translation feature.
I am fortunate that I get to meet lots of people from different cultures and as not all of them can speak English I have trialled using the AI translation feature alongside having the usual interpretation service. So far it has been amazing, there are currently only a handful of languages but there are more promised but having the screen flipped up and live translation is great for me.
In terms of camera’s the phone is excellent, and the Flip 6 has added a higher resolution to the folded screen and is great for using to take selfies as you can hold the whole handset in the palm of your hand. It’s also good if you like to make social media videos as with it in the palm of your hand no-one can see it, so it makes recording yourself a bit more private and less self-conscious.
Also, the AI is clever in terms of pictures as you can manipulate your photos in lots of interesting ways. From adding silly items to photos by simply drawing on them to some of the more sophisticated ways of manipulating colours or image quality.
When the phone is folded over the larger screen that is in this version makes using it so much easier and provides more functionality. You can add apps to the folded screen, and I use it for Spotify and to scroll through WhatsApp messages and emails without having to open the main screen. Again, it makes using the phone very discreet.
I know in some reviews people have criticised the fact that fingerprint sensor is on the side and not in the screen but for this phone it makes perfect sense for me as you can unlock it when it is folded and ergonomically it works better.
All in all a great handset and has convinced me that foldables are the way forward I won’t go back to a solid screen.
